Photo Diary: Getting Across The Atlantic
Finally getting around to posting pictures from the journey to Germany:

The gate at Sacramento International.

The boarding line onto the flight to Minneapolis.

The boarding tunnel onto the plane.

Passengers retrieving the carry-ons and getting off in Minneapolis.

Looking for the departures screens for the proper next flight to Detroit.

A Minnesota “scratch game” ticket machine.

My winning scratch ticket.

The Republican National Commitee welcomed me to the twin cities, which I found strange and interesting at the same time.

While I was walking back and forth between my gate and the in-airport shopping center, I saw a Boy Scout troop (Troop 105, specifically).

One of the shops had this cool-looking gear-operated clock for sale in the back.

Our flight for Detroit was delayed a half-hour because of a seat repair and the previous flight coming in late.

This is somewhere over Michigan, about 20 minutes before we landed in Detroit.

The gate poles had a nice design with clocks on top of many of them.

A fountain between my gate and a McDonald’s.

Waiting for the safety video to play on the monitors.

Snack before dinner: a can of Heineken and a bag of mini-pretzels.

Dinner: A roll, salad, chicken, rice, cheese and crackers, and a brownie

The remnants of breakfast which was a fruit cup, banana-strawberry yogurt, an egg sandwich and some coffee.

The right wing and I’m guessing France or England below it.

The bridge across from the one I walked through getting off the plane.

The bending luggage claim belts at Düsseldorf International Airport.
